Radha Venkataachalam (Member)
Mrs. Radha Venkataachalam orchestrates the growth and development of the prestigious Sri Ramachandra Medical Center and Hospital, Chennai, India; and has nurtured it since it's inception in 1988. Holding the position as the Chief Executive Director of the institution and also as the Registrar of Sri Ramachandra Deemed University, she relentlessly works towards promoting excellence in healthcare, education and research. Her youthful dynamism and the extra-ordinary ability to relate to students, staff and the faculty have been her assets and forte of strength. Her commitment towards quality and ethics resulted in the historic inter-institutional alliance between Harvard Medical School and SRMC. Today Sri Ramachandra Medical Center enjoys a formidable position to reckon with, in its technological superiority in rendering healthcare services.
Radha holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and her natural interest and curiosity in health related activities coupled with the experience she has gained as an administrator for over 21 years has won her abundant admiration from among the medical fraternity. In the year 2000 she won the "Outstanding Personality Award" from the Christian Medical College, Vellore. She also received the "Tamil Nadu Doctors Day Award" from the Indian Medical Association, Chennai. The Rotary Club of Madras honoured her with the prestigious "Shree Shakthi Award". The Medical Council of India nominated her as a member to serve the Management Committee to administer the prestigious "Dr.B.C. Roy National Award" which is held in high esteem by the medical professionals. She has authored a book titled "Patient's Rights and Responsibilities" published by Consumer Association of India in 2003.
In addition to being a Director in textiles and chemical-related industries, she is also an important member of the board in a financial institution and export house.
She actively participates in the music and cultural festivals of Chennai. Her passion for reading books and visiting temples in India are more than just hobbies. |
